Merry Christmas, Lea!
Hope you’re having a lovely Christmas Donnie!
Merry Christmas! π
Thanks! π
Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! Every year when new year’s comes along I think of the film Sunset Boulevard at the part with the New Year’s Party for two. Such a cinematic masterpiece.
That’s one of my favorite talkies! π Sunset Blvd and All About Eve are two movies in particular that I never get tired of.
You know, it’s funny with all the hype about all about eve I didn’t know what was so special about it. I’ll have to watch it again. Maybe I will get more out of it on a second viewing. But Gloria Swanson shines just like she did in the silents in Sunset Boulevard. She was amazing
For me, the dialogue in All About Eve is just so brilliant and witty, and the story interests me too. It unfolds very subtly and the different reactions to Eve’s schemes make for great character studies.
Merry Christmas Lea! Hope it was a good one!
Thanks, Tom–it was! (And is–12 days of Christmas, you know.)
Belated holiday wishes to Lea and everyone else on this wonderful blog. And oh my gosh, that 1914 Xmas card gives me chills. It was really starting up that year, huh? “Tess of the Storm Country”….enter Chaplin…….Judith of Bethulia……Fatty & Mabel in their prime…….”The Squaw Man”….. thanks for sharing this amazing artifact with us Lea!!!!
You’re welcome, thanks for dropping by! π
Here’s to 1917–I mean 2017! π
1917, too! π
